    Business Manager - Liquor Store

    Location: Thaba Nchu

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking an experienced Business Manager to oversee the operations of our liquor store in Thaba Nchu. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing teams, strong labor relations expertise, and the ability to drive business growth while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the store operates efficiently and meets sales and profit targets.
    • Implement and monitor operational policies and procedures.
    • Manage stock levels, ordering, and inventory control to minimize shrinkage.

    People Management:

    • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of employees to deliver excellent customer service.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and identifying training needs.
    • Manage work schedules and allocate tasks effectively to ensure smooth operations.

    Labor Relations:

    • Handle all labor-related issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
    • Build a positive working relationship with staff and ensure a harmonious work environment.

    Financial Management:

    • Prepare budgets and monitor financial performance.
    • Analyze sales data and implement strategies to improve profitability.
    • Ensure accurate cash handling and banking procedures.

    Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Ensure adherence to all liquor licensing laws and health and safety regulations.
    • Manage risk by maintaining a secure and compliant store environment.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies.

    Customer Service:

    • Drive a customer-centric culture within the store.
    • Address customer complaints promptly and professionally.
    • Maintain high standards of store cleanliness and product presentation.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in retail management, preferably in the liquor or FMCG industry.
    • Strong background in people management with a focus on labor relations and conflict resolution.
    • Proven ability to manage operational and financial aspects of a business.
    • Proficiency in stock management, budgeting, and reporting.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
    • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management, HR, or related field will be an advantage.
