Role purpose:

To Provide support to Prepaid systems and services.
To Maintain availability targets on Prepaid systems and services.
To Provide support to Customer Care and Billing Counterparts.
To Ensure business continuity in place for prepaid systems and services.
To Capacity planning on Prepaid systems and services.

To Research and investigation the latest technology to be incorporated into prepaid networks to ensure stability, innovation, and cost saving.


Your responsibilities will include:

Support of prepaid systems and services.
Provide high-level support to customer care regarding customer queries on prepaid transactions performed.
Provide high-level support to junior members of the PPS team.
Monitor and manage Prepaid service availability of 99,98%. Find effective and efficient means of ensuring this availability target is achieved.

This includes proactive monitoring and detection of problems, improved means of ensuring resilience/redundancy, and improved means of restoring service when interruptions to service are experienced.

High-level and operational support.
Proactively monitor, manage and optimize resource/capacity utilization.
Event and fault management.
Configuration management.
Compilation of operational manuals on all systems.
Compilation of statistical and fault reporting systems.
Controlling supplier/vendor trouble tickets.
System Security and Backup Administration.
Service Desk Administration.
Coordinate and facilitate meetings.
Follow ISO Quality Assurance Procedures.
Maintain technical library and documentation.
Compiling and distributing job orders as per change management procedures.
Liaising with BSG, WASPS, NMC Suppliers/Vendors, and other divisions within Vodacom daily.
Proactive involvement in projects related to architecture changes, upgrades, and the implementation of new systems and services. This includes high involvement in the design, testing, implementation, and comprehensive monitoring once new systems and services are implemented.
Investigation into support tools that will assist in operations being increasingly effective and efficient.
Disaster recovery planning and implementation on supported systems.
Security and SOX administration on supported systems.


Ideally you should possess the following:
Grade 12/Matric is essential.
Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent tertiary.
3-5 years of hands-on prepaid recharge services experience in a supportive environment.
Advanced Experience with the Microsoft Office package, i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
Advanced Experience in UNIX, UNIX ADMIN, TCP/IP, SQL, LAN/WAN configurations, and Windows.


Special Requirements:

Rotational after-hour standby duties and overtime.
Provide high-level support to junior team members (office hours and after hours).
Must be willing to travel.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be willing to work across INTSS departments.
Must be willing to work irregular hours.
Must be willing to take management delegation when required.
