This position has a clear line of career progression into Credit Management and will give you the responsibility to manage a wide range of credit control functions and build key relationships from day 1.

We are looking to take someone on who can have the confidence to lead the credit team and have a successful long-term career with the business.


Policies and Procedures

  • Ensure the Standard operating procedures manual (SOP) for the department is maintained, and adhered to
  • Maintain Debtors data base by opening accounts, capturing updated customer information, identifying, and marking accounts dormant etc.
  • Full knowledge of the requirements in respect of National Credit Act, Consumer Protection Act, POPIA

Credit Application

  • Manage the credit vetting and granting process within the levels of authority of new customer accounts
  • Obtain credit reports for new & existing customer account reviews

Account Management

  • Monitor and report on all overdue amounts and queries and report same to the Credit Manager
  • Follow up with controllers on unresolved aged queries and escalate to Credit Manager
  • Oversee accurate payment allocation and clearing of the general ledger
  • Follow up on noncompliance resolve through direct interaction with Customers, Sales Managers and relevant departments (customer visit may be required)
  • Negotiate on payment arrangements and drawing up of Acknowledgement of debt
  • Ensure paperwork is prepared for handover when legal action is required and manage all prelegal to legal accounts

Reporting

  • Monitor and report on the debtors' book for all active accounts
  • Monitor and report on the credit control activities and performances
  • Assist credit manager with monthly management reports

General Management

  • Set processes to allow objectives for the accounts receivable team to be met
  • Support credit controllers daily and train new team members
  • Identify and recommend areas / ways to improve processes.
  • Credit Controller relief, full function, during leave periods

Salary:
Up to R25,000.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Germiston, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:


  • Diploma (required)

Experience:

Credit Control Supervision: 5 years (required)
Legal Collection Process: 5 years (required)
Credit Vetting: 5 years (required)
- staff supervision: 2 years (required)


Language:


  • English (required)
- afrikaans (preferred)


License/Certification:

  • Covid19 Vaccination Certificate (required)
