Description

To achieve operational excellence within the Inbound Department incorporating functions in the following areas: planning of production work orders, planning of export sales orders, dispatch export orders, co-ordinate production returns and in so doing ensure that customer requirements and company objectives and service levels are met.


SPAN OF CONTROL


This role is responsible for managing all inbound issuing, receiving, and dispatching processes, collaborating with other team members as well as the Department Manager.


KEY

ACCOUNTABILITIES & OUTPUTS

  • Tracking and coordinating of daily raw materials issuing to production departments,production returns and receiving of local and imported raw materials.
  • Managing, evaluating, and reporting on warehouse productivity.
  • Supervising the daily activities and staff effectively, resulting in continuous improved service levels to internal and external customers and achieving optimum labour utilization.
  • Participating and coordinating of audits as and when required.
  • Ensure that the warehouse is always in a highly presentable state and audit ready.
  • Ensure internal customer satisfaction through professional and on time deliveries.
  • Communicate with customer services and sales representatives regarding local and export sales orders, freight details, loading times and special handling requests.
  • Understand and execute the planning process involved with raw materials issuing and receiving in the raw materials warehouse.
  • To liaise with the procurement department and receive purchase orders.
  • Implementation of more efficient means of streamlining the distribution process.
  • Ensure accurate administration for transaction excellence.
  • Manage and adhere to SHE programmes and OHS act.
  • Ensure department's consumable needs are met.
  • Ensure transporters are debriefed, paperwork is filled, and queries resolved.
  • Managing risk control, ensure security, safety, and good housekeeping.
  • Monitor forklift driver performance to ensure good customer service both internally and externally.
  • Prevent and act on all security or risk issues and ensure that risks are dealt with proactively.
  • Be always security conscious.
  • Report all safety hazards, incidents, and near misses to manager.
Ensure housekeeping is kept to
5S standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Grade 12 / Matric with a pass in Maths/Maths Lit and English
  • National diploma in logistics/ Supply Chain management or equivalent qualification is preferable.
  • Computer Literate on ERP systems and MS Packages
  • Minimum 3 years relevant logistics and warehouse experience in a similar role within a relevant industry.




REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge and skill:


  • At least 3 years previous experience in a dispatch /warehouse environment
  • Knowledge of distribution center, logistics and supply chain operations
  • Customer service orientated.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent planning, organizing and decisionmaking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


  • Computer literate

  • D365 knowledge and excel.
  • Ability to work in a strong team environment.
  • Ability to develop workplace procedures and documentation.
