The Opportunity


The Procurement Specialist for South Africa is a hands-on member of the TPUK Group Procurement team and will additional take direction and have support from the local business lead - Head of Finance South Africa.


He/She will deliver value by strategically and tactically purchasing goods and services, with appropriate quality, at the best price and delivery at the right time.

He/She will consistently achieve cost reductions through process improvement and projects, ultimately maintaining an inventory of local and approved suppliers and an array of options for local in-country purchases.


Responsibilities & Accountabilities of the role
The Procurement Specialist runs purchasing activities South Africa, delivering products or services at the best price, quality, and time.


In this role, he/she will be responsible for:

  • Purchasing goods and services in categories such as Facilities, IT Hardware and Software, Office supplies, Transport etc. The roleholder will additionally support the Head of Finance SA and/or the UK Group CFO in key property projects that include new leases, site configurations, client specific site changes.
  • Efficiently managing the daytoday procurement operations to achieve the right service levels with transparency, and in compliance with the Teleperformance Group Procurement policies, processes and procurement guidelines.
  • Serving as the point of contact, with his/her supervisor, for any procurement related questions, policy and procedure interpretation and alignment by all departments.
  • Ensuring Category plan execution and contract compliance and collaborating with data for local or regional negotiations / analysis.
  • Processing purchase orders (PO), developing bids and proposals; running RFPs; conducting regular rebidding for existing vendors to ensure the company has the best price.
  • Tracking PO ontime delivery with vendors to achieve ETA compliance.
  • Analyzing P2P flow to identify potential wastes and reduce the cycle time, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Effectively communicating procurement and sourcing achievements, results, challenges and/or roadblocks on procurement activities and processes.
  • Coowning, with his/her supervisor, the procurement dashboard by measuring and tracking procurement KPIs.
  • Achieving robust and durable cost reductions, to improve the financial and competitive position of the company.
  • Monitoring and controlling Supplier information and data maintenance, and making sure data is accurate and complete.
  • Partnering and collaborating with the PSC (Procurement Service Center) team, where applicable, in regard of purchasing categories, as well as Procurement tools, systems, training & support guidance.
  • Ensuring full utilization of internal synergies to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the inbound supply chain process, and accurately tracking such benefits.
  • Fostering procurement early involvement with stakeholders and business partners.
  • Ensuring compliance with Vendor Risk Program as part of the Supplier Management.
  • Supplying continuity risk mitigation assessments and regular reviews in coordination with his/her supervisor and category leads to maintain the quality and consistency of goods and services.
  • Addressing "critical to business" operational problems to supervisor and top leadership in a timely manner.
  • Collaborating with ICQ and auditing processes. Working in alignment with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team for Energy efficiencies initiatives to reduce carbon footprint (clean energy evaluation, smart consumption campaigns, etc.).
  • Experience, Qualifications & Skills, we are looking for degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Sourcing, Business, Logistics or related field Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, managing a vendor base and vendors collaboration, ideally with experience in Facilities related procurement.
  • Strong financial knowledge and analytic skills
  • Resultsoriented, metricsdriven professional
  • Lean Six Sigma Experience and Certification (Yellow or Green Belt preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
