    Project Manager for Grade R Innovation and Implementation

    JET is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the Grade R mathematics and language improvement programme in Gauteng, and the Grade R component of work for the Anglo American South Africa (AASA) Education programme.

    The successful candidate will manage two multi-year projects, responsible for planning and implementation, resource allocation, and reporting to stakeholders. They will also support the development and implementation of strategic projects as required.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Managing contractors and implementing partners, preparing reports for Programme Steering Committees and funders;
    • Working closely with the Project accountant to monitor funding needs and expenditures;
    • Solving complex problems, involving multiple areas of the organisation;
    • Allocating tasks to team members, ensuring adequate supervision and deliverables;

    Requirements:

    • Relevant Honours or Masters degree (development, education fields);
    • Project Management qualification, with M&E exposure;
    • Budget management experience;
    • 6-8 years relevant previous work experience in project management;
    • Experience with USAID, private sector, and government funding;
    • Stakeholder management experience;
    • Research and M&E experience advantageous;

    Working conditions:

    • 3-month probation period, 100% in-office time;
    • Hybrid options considered after this period;
    • Regular travel to clients and stakeholders/beneficiaries;

    Fixed-term 18-month contract, salary: R715 000 - R760 000 CTC per annum for 16 days of work per month.
