    Description

    IT Governance, Risk and Compliance Specialist

    This role is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of IT governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of IT governance, risk management, and compliance principles and be able to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    The IT Governance, Risk and Compliance Specialist will be responsible for:

    • Developing and implementing IT governance frameworks to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
    • Evaluating and mitigating IT risks through regular risk assessments and audit processes.
    • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
    • Providing guidance and support to IT teams on GRC methodologies, tools, and enablers.
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement IT governance frameworks and ensure seamless integration.

    Essential Qualifications

    The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

    • Matric certificate.
    • National Diploma in IT or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (NQF Level 6).
    • IT Governance certification (e.g., COBIT, ITIL).
    • Certification in CRISC, CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CGEIT.

    Essential Experience

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Experience in IT governance, risk management, and compliance related fields.
    • Hands-on experience with GRC methodologies, tools, and enablers.
    • Implementation and monitoring experience with one or more IT governance frameworks (COBIT, ITIL, ISO, PRINCE II, etc.).

    Knowledge and Skills

    The successful candidate will demonstrate:

    • Solid understanding of IT governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
    • Understanding of security risks and required preventative controls.
    • Excellent understanding of IT operational processes and controls, including projects.
    • Knowledge of IT frameworks and best practices.
    • Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements related to the IT environment (PCI DSS, POPIA, GDPR).
    • Able to persuade and communicate GRC-related concepts to staff.
    • Solid knowledge, understanding, and application of relevant legislation.
    • Ability to map business needs to technology solutions.
