SA STEELWORKS - SEMI-SKILLED WELDER

The Group purchases and processes all forms of ferrous metals (steel and iron) and non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper, zinc, stainless steel, brass and others) from industrial enterprises, scrap metal dealers and private individuals.

Our processing facilities are located in and around Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Job description:
Qualifying Criteria:

Matric
Preferred, but not compulsory
Relevant welding courses
Minimum 58 years' experience in a similar environment (Steel and or Industrial environment)
Must have experience in pipe welding, Copper, Brazing and Silver solder and Cast steel
Must be proficient in Mig, Tig Gas and SMAW
Extensive knowledge of power tools
Enjoys technical activities
Knowledge of Health and Safety Rules
Ability to work under challenging conditions
Excellent communication skills

Qualifying Attributes

Hardworking and selfmotivated
Must be prepared to work overtime and weekends when required
Must be available to work December and Easter Shutdowns
Strength to handle materials & tools (physically fit)
Must have sober habits
Good handeye coordination
Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Time management and organizational skills
Excellent standards in execution

Standard hours

07h30-17h00: Monday - Thursday
