    Description

    Candidate Scientist/Engineer: Process Control - MAC (Re-Advert)

    Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Candidate Scientist/Engineer to conduct research into advanced control systems and optimisation strategies for minerals processing and metallurgical plants.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct research into advanced process control solutions, including modelling complex processes.
    • Identify opportunities for technology development and commercialization.
    • Support research projects and the development of products from that research.
    • Ensure projects are executed on time and within budget.
    • Adhere to SHEQ procedures and execute project work with maximum overall technical efficiency.
    • Participate in training, guidance and motivation supplied to junior staff.

    Requirements

    • B.Eng. Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical, or B.Sc Honours in an applicable field.
    • Familiarity with MATLAB or Python.
    • Computer programming skills in C, C# or VB.NET.
    • Numerical analysis and solving differential equations.

    Competencies

    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Numerical and quantitative skills.
    • Self-driven and able to multi-task.

    Salary: Market Related (estimated salary 80,000 - 120,000 ZAR per annum))
