- Maintain accurate financial records
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure transactions are recorded correctly
- Stay current with accounting principles and regulations
- Assist with onboarding processes when needed
- Support secretarial duties and ensure client compliance
- Handle necessary requirements to maintain compliance with SARS
- Proficient in Xero Accounting (experience with Sage and Pastel Partner is advantageous)
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally in the consultancy industry
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
- Meticulous, proactive, and hardworking
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong customer service skills and client communication abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, especially with a high volume of clients handled monthly
