    Introduction

    We are seeking an experienced Senior Risk Controller to join our team in Durban - Riverhorse Valley. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the control room's operations, ensuring the smooth delivery of services, and managing risk-related incidents.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise daily operations in the Risk and Operational Control Room
    • Ensure approved systems are utilized and incidents are processed efficiently
    • Monitor individual performance and provide coaching where necessary
    • Interact with customers to ensure seamless delivery
    • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) affecting the operational and risk environment
    • Understand business operations nationally and ensure reporting procedures are followed
    • Provide driver, incident, and risk reports to senior management and directors
    • Assist with counseling and discipline of controllers as needed
    • Support senior management and directors with special requests
    • Manage risk-related incidents such as hijackings, accidents, breakdowns, route violations, and critical alerts
    • Escalate all incidents to senior management
    • Ensure control room staff follow Risk Control Room SOPs and complete tasks efficiently
    • Adhere to distribution procedures and policies
    • Manage controllers on shift and ensure they comply with instructions and duties
    • Send allocations, track, and trace reports within agreed timelines
    • Manage allocated fleet and monitor incidents, client reporting, and breakdowns until resolved
    • Address non-conformance matters immediately and escalate accordingly
    • Manage breakdowns timeously and escalate if necessary
    • Create and send incident reports promptly, ensuring professionalism and accuracy
    • Verify and confirm allocation updates regularly, with emphasis on high-risk depots

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • 3-5 years of experience in a risk controller or similar role
    • Achievement Orientation and staff motivation
    • Able to work shifts
    • Diagnose problems, effect corrective and preventative measures
    • Issue clear and concise instructions
    • Analytical thinking and attention to detail
    • Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and excellent communication skills
    • Multitask, address operational issues using deductive logic and reasoning
    • Handle and respond to incidents professionally
    • Build relationships
    • Make decisions strategically
    • Computer literacy and working knowledge of Excel
    • Own reliable transportation
