The Role:


As the
Commercial Legalization Officer, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all commercial anti-piracy legalization functions within the organization.

Your role will involve ensuring compliance and protecting the organization's intellectual property rights by legalizing commercial outlets, investigating illegal utilization of content, and driving incremental revenues through commercial legalization efforts.


Your mission at Irdeto:


  • Manage and coordinate overall commercial antipiracy legalization functions, including DSTV, channels (new and existing), antipiracy, technical aspects, and commercial legalization.
  • Liaise with the MAL Anti-Piracy Legalization Manager and assist in people management activities.
  • Drive incremental revenues through effective commercial legalization strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with the MAL antipiracy legalization team to implement and monitor all commercialrelated functions.
  • Work with the MAL Anti-Piracy GM and Commercial Anti-Piracy Legalization Manager on antipiracy and commercial projects.
  • Support sales efforts by identifying and targeting noncompliant commercial subscribers for commercial product and service offerings.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and data mining to identify and convert or disconnect commercial outlets that are illegally utilizing MAL content.
  • Legalize commercial outlets, such as pubs, clubs, hotels, and compounds, ensuring compliance with all necessary legal requirements.
  • Provide monthly reports on commercial legalization incremental revenues to the MAL management team and the MAL Anti-Piracy Commercial Legalization Manager.

  • Familiarity with markets and corporate companies, including competitors and collections processes.
  • Proficiency in the sales environment, with a strong understanding of commercial products and services.
  • Sound knowledge of the broadcasting industry and commercial piracy.
  • Proven experience in people management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Ability to make timely and quality decisions under pressure.
  • Serviceoriented mindset with a focus on delivering results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Numerical proficiency for data analysis and reporting.
  • Effective planning and organizing skills.

  • Experience in trend analysis and adapting strategies accordingly.
