Job Description:

Ensure all safety rules and regulations are applied.
Conduct safety talks.
Conduct toolbox checks.
Ensure good housekeeping practices in workshops
Ensure Quality of workmanship
Distribute allocation of jobs to the fitters and turners and handyman.
Monitor progress and quality of jobs.
Coaching of all reportees.
Ensure documentation of modifications is correct.
Do turning/fitting jobs when required.
Order spares.
Plan the servicing of equipment.
Monitor and resolve problems with machine.
Record equipment reading.
Implement effective maintenance on plant.
Ensure alternate use of service plant machines.
Ensure good housekeeping maintained.
Monitor costs daily.
Make suggestions to reduce costs.
Monitor and pick up trend and spares in use.
Monitor trends in deviations from maintenance.
Ensure retention of ISO9002.
Ensure job cards are correctly completed and relevant.
Ensure pre-maintenance meetings are held.
Update mechanical maintenance check sheets.
Ensure system is up to date.
Evaluate check sheets and make recommendations/modifications.
Ensure relevant information is captured in Compact.
Ensure maintenance is planned and relevant resources are made available.
Ensure rapid response from tool room.
Monitor availability information and ensure continuous improvement.
Ensure weekly audits per line
Implement and use performance management.
Assess skills required in his/her team.
Maintain correct training plan.
Conduct job observation and risk assessments.
Ensuring that the department operates within the set budget and continuously seek ways to reduce operational costs.

People management with particular focus on attendance, monitoring conduct and embedding the culture of adherence to company policies and procedures.

Skills development and identification of key team members for career development.

Job Requirements:

Grade 12/Matric certificate/N3
N6/T3/S4 Mechanical Engineering - added advantage
Qualified Fitter &Turner (Red Seal)
Qualified artisan

Excellent people management ability and a reasonable understanding of IR issues
Have the ability to interact at all levels
Above average technical ability
Must have problem solving skills
Strong leadership qualities as well as interpersonal skills
Good attention to detail
5-7 years' experience as an Artisan
Evidence of Training on maintenance of press tooling
Be computer literate - experience in JDE, Barcode, working knowledge of MS word; Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Have Analytical skills.
