My client, a provider of high quality pest and disease diagnostic services is seeking a Diagnostician to join their team.

In this role you will run the diagnostic centre and provide line management supervision to 3 Technical Assistants.

  • SACNASP registration required

Experience in the following skills is required:

  • Molecular pest and pathogen diagnostic techniques
  • Application of traditional plant pathology techniques for the identification of plant pathogens
  • Identification of oomycete pathogens
  • Counting and identification of plant parasitic nematodes, specifically the citrus nematode
You will

  • Collaborate with relevant experts to optimise and implement conventional and molecular diagnostic protocols for pest and disease identification.
  • Provide research support to Plant Pathologists.
  • Coordinate contract research conducted by the diagnostic centre.
  • Conduct and/or supervise the required diagnostic services required for the company, growers and researchers
