Brief Description
The Admissions Administrator is responsible for providing a one stop service by creating a seamless application and admissions service to prospective applicants seeking to enrol for part-time undergraduate studies.This involves implementing approved faculty admission requirements to meet established targets for successfully converting applicants into registered students.
Key Responsibilities:
·Ensuring that Decision making is timely, and applicants are assessed according to the university requirements and selection criteria as set by the faculties
·Ensuring that all admission enquiries (telephonic, email, CRM, one to one consultations are dealt with promptly and in a professional and customer friendly manner
·Handling various administrative tasks
·Assessing the needs of the applicant with respect to broad career and curriculum advice, and on the entry requirements for part-time degree programmes and assessing eligibility, both local and international applicants
·Liaising closely with faculty offices and other relevant service departments to ensure that part-time applicants get the best service
Requirements:
·Matric
·Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
·At least 2 years in a Faculty Office or similar environment
·An understanding of the tertiary education environment and university entry/eligibility requirements
·High level of accountability, integrity, and attention to detail
·Strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills and must be highly motivated
·Ability to operate in a pressurised environment and a high volume of applications
·Computer literacy, above average keyboard skills, time management skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Preferences:
·The incumbent should have experience working in a university or higher education environment and the ability to work under high pressure as well in-depth knowledge of admission processes for undergraduate applications
·At least 2 years in a Faculty Office or similar environment
·Knowledge of the Student Information Management System (SIMS) or similar student systems used in Higher Education institutions
·The incumbent needs to be able to navigate the use of both manual and online processes to fulfil the responsibilities of the post
