PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Operational and tactical ownership and execution of all business unit planning functions. Management and leadership of the Supply Chain functions planning teams.


REPORTING TO:
Business Unit Supply Chain Manager or Ops Manager


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Achieve the insertion capacity and lead time requirements of the BU throughout the forecast period by creating and professionally articulating operational plans which include but are not limited to stock building, intergroup outsourcing, shift patterns, capacity utilisation, planning rules, pull production, warehouse planning and Capex.
  • Monitor and report on production, warehouse and logistics performances and demand performance against S&OP and budget with a view of attainment to plan and TCM reduction opportunities.
  • Interpret Unconstrained Demand Plans and determine SKU stocking and production demand opportunities based on plant capacity and product specifications.
  • Develop medium
- and long-term supply and capacity plans encompassing scheduled maintenance, demonstrated performance, insertion capacity, stock movement, warehouse capacity, push/pull conflicts, annual/periodic shuts, projects, and statutory requirements.

  • Adhere to and achieve high compliance to stock definitions, stocking levels and replenishment levels for finished goods and the various work practices relevant to those items.
  • Assist in employee hiring, training, performance evaluation, retention, and termination activities.
  • Ensure resolute compliance and adherence to Order Flow SOPs.
  • Actively lead and pursue integration opportunities across NPD, sales, intercompany, customers, carton erecting, finance, and supply chain to improve business efficiency & demand outputs through formal and informal engagements
  • Ensure all supply plans meet strategic service, quality, reputation, capital and cost requirements.
  • Conduct daily meetings to keep track of progress to schedules and plans at level 2 and level 3.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALLIFICATIONS/EXPERENCE:


  • Matric or any equivalent qualification
  • BSc, BCom Hons in Supply Chain or related qualification, bachelor's degree Engineering qualification.
  • Minimum of 35 years' experience in Manufacturing or FMCG in the planning or supply chain environment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office will be added advantage
  • Knowledge and experience in dispatch principles at a supervisory level.
  • 35 years in Planning Management, Supply Chain Management or Master Production Planning
  • 1 experience in production planning, scheduling, customer service, internal sales and dispatch function will be advantageous.
  • Experience in high asset utilization, high stock environment.

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 50% (preferred)
