    Description

    Quality Engineer - Welding

    The successful candidate will take up the role of a quality engineer to ensure that problem analysis is done to the required Group guidelines and meets the customer's expectations.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Establishing root causes and implement corrective actions for allocated quality problems.
    • Interfacing with various departments within VWSA.
    • Presents findings / reports at various forums and management structures.
    • Liaises with overseas counterparts with regard to build/quality matters.
    • Coordinates and is accountable for Quality issues.
    • Leads cross-functional teams when required.
    • Monitors and reports non-conformances and processes to drive early detection and initiate corrective actions.
    • Has sound knowledge of Vehicle Manufacturing processes.
    • Possesses sound problem-solving skills and Quality Tools e.g., Fishbone, FMEA, SPC & DOE.
    • Has experience in interpreting measuring reports and technical drawings.
    • Is proficient in database software packages (MS SQL, Oracle etc.).

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

    • Has process and material knowledge of welding and sealer joints in body construction.
    • Has sound knowledge of weld and sealer applications equipment, inclusive of monitoring systems and control.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • BSc Degree / B-Tech Mechanical / Metallurgy or Mechatronics Engineering.

    Desirable Skills:

    • Analytically minded with the ability and inclination to work accurately with databases.
    • System-based data extraction, interpretation, and analysis.
    • Toolmaker Trade.
    • A knowledge of German language.
    • Experience in engineering packages (CATIA, CAD).

    Desired Experience & Qualification

    Must have:

    • A minimum National Diploma in one of the following engineering sciences (ND Mechanical. Electrical, Mechatronics, Metallurgy).
    • Three to five years' experience within the manufacturing industry.
