Job Title: Plant Engineer

An exciting opportunity has become available with one of the leading manufacturers of animal feed in South Africa, a global player and preferred choice for animal feeds across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee installation, repair, and maintenance of feed factory facilities, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and civil aspects.
• Compile and manage maintenance budgets as well as capital expenditures to ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Lead and mentor a diverse team of maintenance professionals from various backgrounds, promoting skill development and growth.
• Manage and optimize the computerized maintenance management system (Pragma) to enhance operational efficiency.
• Conduct employee performance reviews in accordance with company policies, providing constructive feedback for personal and professional growth.
• Initiate and participate in engineering improvement projects to drive innovation and excellence within the organization.
• Attend management and departmental meetings to stay informed and contribute to strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with relevant labor legislation, with a particular emphasis on the Occupational Health and Safety Act to safeguard employee well-being.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate must be a qualified engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) with a strong background in asset management. A minimum of three years' experience in a manufacturing environment is required, with specific emphasis on maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. Experience within the feed industry and knowledge of the PRAGMA maintenance management system are advantageous. Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is highly recommended. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to support the growth and success of our organization.
