    Description

    Job Title: Operations Systems Administrator

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Systems Administrator to join our team.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. Administer and manage processes as part of a systems administration team, with responsibility for selected processes in the data center.
    2. System administration skills will be used to create a balanced team combination with cross-functional skills and experience to support the following systems and components in the data center:
      1. SCCM
      2. SCOM
      3. VMWare
      4. Active Directory and DNS
      5. Back-ups and archiving
      6. Veritas
      7. Storage including a storage area network (SAN)
      8. Symantec antivirus
      9. Patch management (Ivanti)
      10. Server management (Microsoft Windows)
    3. Server hardware and software support.
    4. Provide support to provincial and municipal offices.
    5. Manage and monitor anti-virus products across the organization.
    6. Manage and monitor patch management across the organization.
    7. Resolve third level support problems.
    8. Maintain 99.999% uptime of data-center operations.
    9. Server maintenance and monitoring, including knowledge of SCOM.
    10. Monitor and maintain the load balanced internet information servers (IIS).
    11. Responsible for the overall infrastructure architecture, including compliance with the company's enterprise information architecture.
    12. Knowledge of security Firewalls.
    13. Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (Forefront TMG), formerly known as Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA Server).
    14. Knowledge and experience in virtualization technologies, with special focus on VMware.
    15. Coordinate and support team members of systems administrators.
    16. Review change requests for completeness and analyze, prioritize, categorize, approve, and schedule change requests.
    17. Monitor the successful completion of all change requests, including change planning, building, testing, and implementation to ensure these processes follow the change schedule.
    18. Review and evaluate the change process.
    19. Manage and monitor data storage using storage area network (SAN) technologies.
    20. Knowledge of Microsoft Clustering services.
    21. Manage the VMWare environment.
    22. Schedule and perform maintenance of systems.
    23. Provisioning of data center infrastructure.
    24. Evaluate new technologies and prepare documentation.

    Skills Requirements:

    The ideal candidate will have deep skills and experience in Microsoft Operating Systems and Applications, with the following certifications:

    • MCSE, MCSD, MCSA, etc.
    • MCITP Enterprise Administrator (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) on Windows Server.
    • VMWare Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV).
    • MCDBA will be an advantage.

    A strong background in troubleshooting and problem-solving technical issues, as well as designing and implementing IT solutions, is also essential.
