    Job Description

    Our team is responsible for executing and supporting the inspections, servicing, repairs, modernizations, and installation of cranes and related components and equipment. The primary goal is to ensure that all inspections, load testing, and other requirements comply with statutory and legal standards.

    1. Perform inspections, services, repairs, load testing, and fault finding according to service contracts or other requirements.

    2. Ensure that cranes are thoroughly assessed in accordance with stipulated procedures and service products.

    3. When the machinery or equipment is non-compliant, isolate the problem and take recommended action to minimize downtime.

    4. Prepare comprehensive and accurate inspection reports in accordance with company report templates, ensuring that they are signed by customers and other responsible individuals.

    5. Ensure that faults and problems requiring repairs are accurately identified during the inspection.

    6. Communicate compliance and non-compliance of lifting machinery to stakeholders.

    7. Compile and maintain inspection schedules and registers.

    8. Explain and apply engineering skills in inspecting lifting machines.

    9. Maintain awareness and comply with current responsibilities and requirements of relevant OHS Acts, mine health and safety acts, regulations, and applicable Health and Safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe workplace.

    10. Adhere to safety procedures both on company and customer premises wherever work is conducted.

    11. Ensure that work areas are properly assessed and work is performed in accordance with accepted safety procedures.

    12. Complete the Pre-Work Risk Assessment (POWRA) before commencing any job, ensuring a safe work environment.

    13. Conduct essential operations associated with efficient and safe lifting machinery.

    14. Identify service products and access activities in accordance with workplace requirements.

    15. Work according to company policies and procedures.

    16. Make recommendations on maintenance required and/or modifications to improve machinery and equipment.

    17. Communicate information on equipment problems or potential enhancements timely to relevant persons.

    18. Collect customer input on matters ranging from product design, operation, maintenance, warranty performance, and safety.

    19. Assist colleagues in upskilling programs, sharing knowledge and experience, including becoming Lifting Machinery Inspector (LMI) and Lifting Tackle Inspector (LTI).

    20. Regularly participate in trainings or forums to ensure awareness of any changes in legislation.

    21. Report all hazards, incidents, and injuries in accordance with legislation and company reporting procedures.

    22. Maintain general housekeeping.

    23. Execute all functions in line with applicable delegation of authority.

    24. Compile and maintain safety files as required per regulatory, compliance, and customer requirements.

    25. Ensure accurate and timely administration of relevant documentation such as service or inspection reports, timesheets, and orders.

    2. EES Response Rate.

    3. Agreement Retention (annualized): %.

    Qualifications:

    1. Trade certificate - Electrical/Millwright.

    2. Lifting Machinery Inspector Accreditation.

    3. Valid driver's license.

    Skills & Knowledge:

    1. 5 years' work experience.

    2. Advanced understanding of Driven Machinery Regulation (DMR) 18.

    3. Good understanding of ISO 9001, 18001, 24001, and 45001.

    4. Safe working practices.

    5. Basic knowledge of electrical theory.

    6. Knowledge of lifting tackle and rigging.

    7. Selecting, using, and caring for engineering measuring equipment.

    8. Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical data.

    9. Use hand tools and trade-type tools.

    10. Able to work at elevated areas and heights.

    11. Able to travel locally and outside SA for operational requirements.

    12. Proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
