    Job Description

    As a Branch Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our branch. This role involves ensuring smooth operations, managing resources effectively, and maintaining high standards of safety, environmental, and fleet compliance.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and submit performance reports to the Managing Director, providing recommendations for improvement.
    • Develop and enforce policies to ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and fleet standards.
    • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including regular toolbox talks and documentation.
    • Oversee daily branch activities, prioritizing efficiency and resource utilization.
    • Maintain fleet maintenance within service agreements and legal requirements.
    • Compile and submit management reports to inform business decisions.
    • Coordinate transportation and scheduling to optimize product flow.
    • Manage freight accounts, ensuring accuracy before obtaining MD authorization.

    Financial Oversight

    • Analyze profit and loss statements, budgeting, and pricing to inform business strategies.
    • Review financial reports and expenditures, providing input on pricing or expansion needs.
    • Ensure services remain within budget, identifying areas for cost savings.

    Human Resources

    • Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and employee recruitment, training, and discipline.

    Client and Stakeholder Relationships

    • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client queries promptly.
    • Nurture relationships with stakeholders, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

    Capabilities and Competencies

    • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for internal and external clients.
    • Fluency in English and Afrikaans, with strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Take ownership of projects, clients, and actions, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
    • Build and maintain a network of contacts to drive business growth.
    • Work systematically, methodically, and efficiently to achieve goals consistently.
    • Demonstrate financial acumen and business understanding.
    • Perform under pressure, working productively and efficiently in demanding situations.
    • Achieve challenging goals with enthusiasm, working extended hours when necessary.

    Requirements

    • Hold a valid driver's license and own transport.
    • Be willing to work overtime, including evenings and weekends.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Senior certificate (NQF 4)
    • Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Road Transport.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial or similar role.
    • Strong marketing and sales background.
    • Experience dealing with the National Bargaining Council (Road Freight).
