Purpose:


The Logistics Clerk is responsible for shelving orders, loading vehicles and containers, ensure cancellations are done daily, report and follow up on orders not received from the warehouse, housekeeping, general operational tasks as required.


Responsibilities:


  • Loading delivery vehicles and containers.
  • Make sure the cancellations are done daily.
  • Assist in bringing out the branch orders for the couriers.
  • Ensure that stock quantity and accuracy at 100% all times by means of checks.
  • Report any orders not received from warehouse (out of SLA) to the warehouse supervisor and your distribution center supervisor.
  • To assist where ever needed as per instruction from superiors.
  • To assist with getting open and sent to dc orders from stores as quickly as possible from warehouse.
  • Ensure that there are two assistants' in the collection area at all time.
  • Job rotation will be required interdepartment as well as between departments in operations for the period agreed.
  • On occasion the above hours may be used for stock checks as per arrangement with the supervisor.
  • Ensure that orders are shelved within set parameters from sent to DC to READY and follow up on orders not shelved (Out of SLA).
  • Report any issues or problems on any orders immediately within 30min and ensure that the issues are resolved assisted by the supervisor.
  • Damages must be contained and minimized as far as possible by means of correct stacking and storing procedures.
  • Ensure that the correct order and correct quantity is dispatched from the specific location with the correct documents.
  • Extra hours worked from 07:00 08:00 and from 17:00 18:00 will be priority to get orders ready for shipping and to make sure housekeeping is up to standard.

Qualification and Experience:


  • Matric
  • 2 years' clerical/dispatch experience preferred at a similar level

Skills and Knowledge:


  • Basic knowledge of general administrative processes
  • Good knowledge of facility layout
  • Good communication
  • Good people skills
