Role Function:
The SAP IT Administrator is responsible and accountable for the smooth running of GlueData computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs, and timelines.
Required skills:
- Degree in BTech, BSc in Computer Science, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or similar field.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Experienced in administering Windows, Linux, O365 Active Directory, SAP and SQL/HANA environments.
- SAP basis general knowledge (advantageous).
- Knowledge of the industry's best practice processes.
- Knowledge of network architecture and client/server technology.
- Knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems.
- Handson experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
- Exposure to data protection practices (GDPR or POPI) and cyber security (advantageous).
- CGEIT, COBIT 5, TOGAF, 6 Sigma or related IT Governance and system architecture courses (advantageous).
- Cisco, AWS, Azure, Github/Bitbucket, (advantageous).
- Selfstarted and can work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, organises, controls and evaluates IT and electronic data operations.
- Designs, develops, implements and coordinates systems, policies and procedures.
- Ensures security of data, network access and backup systems.
- Acts in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.
- Identifies problematic areas and implements strategic solutions in time.
- Audits systems and assess their outcomes.
- Preserves assets, information security and control structures.
- Ensure costeffectiveness.
- Manages outsourced IT vendor(s).
- Consults on cybersecurity compliance measures & policies and implements as necessary.
- Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Internal Operations and Communications:_
- Effectively communicates relevant ITrelated information to superiors.
- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
- Initiates and implements improvements in all areas of IT responsibility.
- Serves as the main point of contact on all ITrelated matters for the office assigned.
- Communicates effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
- Continually seeks opportunities to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
- Networking:_
- Assists in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting regional infrastructure.
- Implements network security.
- Oversees the administration and maintenance of the company's infrastructure, and directs vendors when necessary.
- Oversees the administration of the company's WAN.
- Telephony:_
- Manages and develops upgrades to the company's telephone system at the regional level.
- Internal Systems:_
- Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.
- Support the SAP Data Services Technical environments across various Data Migration Projects.
- Works with project teams to help implement Internal Systems.
- Help Desk Administration:_
- Oversees all help desk activities with the appointed vendor.
- Interacts with internal clients on all levels to help resolve ITrelated issues and provides answers in a timely manner.
- Asset Management:_
- Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software products.
- Ensures that company assets are maintained responsibly.
- Oversees the administration and maintenance of computer software for the company.
- General:_
- Reports to the IT Manager.
- Serves in an advisory capacity to the GlueData employees and Directors.
- Ad hoc afterhours activities may be required.
- Travel may be required.
- This role is based at the Cape Town office.
Salary:
From R18,000.00 per month
Education:
- Bachelors (preferred)
Experience:
