    Description

    Job Overview

    To provide structural engineering services to iX engineers and its clients, including industrial, commercial, steel, and reinforced concrete structures, associated civil engineering elements, tendering, and construction monitoring duties, while supporting the broader iX engineers' business, values, and vision.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Assist the Principal Engineer and be responsible for structural designs of Structural and Civil infrastructure including drawings, design reviews, meetings, report writing, risk management, and inspections.
    • Knowledge and understanding of CAD/BIM standards and software.
    • Manipulate/translate various digital design file formats to create usable CAD/Revit drawings.
    • Collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines, design changes, and model challenges utilizing AutoCAD/Revit and other modelling and design software (e.g., Prokon, Robot, Tekla).
    • Ensure drawings and designs meet requirements and adhere to project milestones.
    • Prepare and review reinforcing details based on FEA outcomes.
    • Produce and deliver associated reports and engineering drawings for review, information, tender, or construction.
    • Mentor and manage BIM modellers and junior designer Engineers/Technicians/Technologists.
    • Construction monitoring of the Structural components of a project.
    • Appreciation and love for Structural Engineering and its principles with an eagerness to grow into a knowledgeable Principal Structural Design Engineer/specialist and to lead Structural projects internally or externally.
    • Have excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
    • Be a person of integrity and subscribe to engineering ethics.
    • Ability to build and retain healthy relationships with others.
    • Be able to identify, analyze, and design solutions to engineering problems.

    Desired Experience & Qualification

    • Hold a B.Eng. degree (If you have a post-graduate qualification in structural engineering it will be to your advantage).
    • Professionally registered with ECSA or proven to have already applied for ECSA Pr. Eng registration.
    • Have at least 5+ years technical and practical experience in the field of structural engineering.
    • Have technical and practical engineering skills in the structural engineering design of public, private, and industrial infrastructure, including water retaining structures, steel structures, and multi-storey buildings.
    • Have working knowledge of Revit Modelling and FE analysis software.
    • A well-developed understanding of all the related engineering disciplines involved in the design of public, private, and industrial infrastructure projects.
