Description

Responsibilities:

Track, report, and analyze budget variances to provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations.
Prepare comprehensive month-end reports for management, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
Manage cash flow projections and reports, ensuring optimal cash management and liquidity.
Oversee and supervise company audits, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
Review company and group financial statements to verify their accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
Check and approve bank recipients and payments to maintain financial integrity and accuracy.
Manage the group's tax compliance, including the timely submission of tax returns and adherence to tax regulations.
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and reporting requirements.
Oversee the BEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) audit process to maintain compliance and transparency.
Monitor internal controls and identify areas for improvement, recommending and implementing necessary changes to policies and procedures.
Provide guidance and supervision to junior staff members, fostering their professional development and growth.
Handle ad hoc requests and projects related to financial management and analysis.

Requirements, Skills & Competencies:

Qualification:

Proven working experience as a Financial Controller, demonstrating a track record of success in overseeing financial operations.
10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience, showcasing your in-depth knowledge and expertise.
Degree in Accounting, with a postgraduate qualification considered advantageous.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and financial reporting standards.
Experience in creating and analyzing financial statements, including proficiency in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process.
Excellent skills in accounting software usage and administration.
Independent and self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and drive results.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
Strong leadership skills, inspiring and motivating your team to achieve excellence.
Ability to collaborate, delegate, and work well under pressure, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
