Provider of engineering, scheduled maintenance services, technical resources and turnkey engineering projects for the South African Nuclear Power Industry seeks a Senior Construction Leader is required for the Steam Generator Replacement (SGR) Project.

This project represents one of the most significant upgrades to Koeberg Nuclear Power Station in order to support the station's life extension program.

You will work as part of a dynamic team with regular interface and input from international experts on SGR projects on the side of the main contractor.

The Senior Construction Leader is responsible for the technical execution of the projects, focussing on Site Implementation Documentation, arranging for Equipment & Materials, Leading & Overseeing installation Activities and Client


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Provide construction input during Engineering Phase.
  • Compile/review/approve Site Implementation Documents and other project documentation as authorised.
  • Tracking progress to ensures delivery within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Obtain materials required for implementation.
  • Receipt inspection (with QC), organising of storage and transmittal of materials & tools.
  • Provide input for planning & scheduling functions schedule, Permit to Works & SAP orders.
  • Take out PTWs & SFTs when required.
  • Assist T&C Engineers with Test & Commissioning if required.
  • Utilise Discrepancy Report & Change Notice process for any changes required to the Provide administrative support services by compiling reports, creating data records and planning courses.
  • Provide technical leadership to the Supervisor and rest of the project team for implementation phase.
  • Promotes safe work practices and quality work always.
  • Perform on site job observations when required.
  • Obtain legal certification (COCs, etc.) & return to service certification.
  • Informs the Project Manager as soon as becoming aware of any issue which may constitute an Early Warning or Compensation Event.
  • Assist the PM with scope control.
  • Any other general action required by the FAM for the benefit of the department or PM of the project to the benefit of the project.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Artisan / Technician (National Certificate) + 15 years of related experience OR


  • Technician (Engineering diploma

  • ND) + 10 years related experience OR
  • Technologist (Technical engineering degree or HND) + 6 years related experience OR
  • Engineer (B. Sc. Engineering degree) + 4 years related experience OR
  • Experience in the nuclear field is required.
