    Foundation Director

    You lead and formulate (research based) the strategic direction of the Mr Price Group Foundation and oversee the implementation and execution of the strategy. You offer thought leadership, subject matter expertise and advice on funding partnerships and are the key spokesperson for the Foundation, regularly approaching and engaging with stakeholders and investors/ funders.

    Ultimately, your purpose is to lead the Foundation to achieve its vision and contributing to sustainable social and economic development in South Africa.

    Strategy & budget

  • Lead the formulation and execution of the Foundation strategy to deliver defined impact KPIs.
  • Oversee the formulation of the annual budget and the allocation of funds across the various programs to support strategy delivery.
  • Leadership

  • Lead the Foundation team in the execution of strategy.
  • Fulfil the statutory responsibilities of an executive director of the Foundation.
  • Engage with and deliberate with non-executive directors at board meetings.
  • Funding / Investment

  • Engage with and pitch to potential local and international organisations to secure funding to support the Foundation's programs to deliver the strategy.
  • Proactively build, foster, and maintain relationships with funders and partners.
  • Engage with media to create awareness and promote the Foundation's programs.
  • Reporting

  • Monitor, evaluate and assess program impact.
  • Direct and sign off reports to address stakeholder requirements (financial and impact reporting), including Foundation board of directors, external funders and partners, potential funders, program service providers, Mr Price Social, Ethics, Transformation and Sustainability committee (which monitors the impact of the Foundation).
  • An Undergrad or Post Grad qualification in Development Economics, Human Development, Sustainable Development, Psychology, Development Studies or Development economics
  • 15 years' experience with an NPO / PBO (at an operational implementation and management level) including a minimum of 5 -8 years in a strategic or executive leadership role (directing or leading an NPO / PBO)
