Job Summary:


As an Industrial Chemist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of various chemical processes involved in the metal finishing department.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring and optimizing chemical reactions, conducting analysis on raw materials and finished products, and implementing quality control measures to meet industry standards.


Requirements:


  • Tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting, is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical techniques and instrumentation.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

1.


Process Monitoring and Optimization:


  • Oversee and monitor chemical processes involved in the metal finishing department to ensure efficiency, productivity, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and optimization, working collaboratively with the production team.

Chemical Analysis:


  • Conduct thorough analysis of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished products to assess chemical composition and quality.
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation to perform accurate and timely chemical testing.

3.


Quality Control:


  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the final products meet industry and regulatory standards.
  • Investigate and address any deviations from quality specifications, collaborating with relevant teams to rectify issues.

4.


Laboratory Management:


  • Manage and maintain the laboratory facilities, including equipment calibration, chemical inventory, and waste disposal.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations in the laboratory environment.

5.


Research and Development:


  • Collaborate with the other departments to explore new technologies, materials, and processes to enhance the efficiency and quality of steel production.

6.


Documentation and Reporting:


  • Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on chemical analysis, process improvements, and quality control measures for management review.

7.


Collaboration and Communication:


  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to address challenges and improve overall performance.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and updates to relevant stakeholders effectively.

8.


Compliance:


  • Stay informed about relevant environmental regulations, safety guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Ensure that all chemical processes comply with regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
