Job Title:
Fitter & Turner
Location:
Kuilsriver, Cape Town
We have a position for an experienced Fitter & Turner to join our mechanical maintenance team. The incumbent will be responsible for mechanical maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service and maintain various machines, including Mobile Cranes.
- Manufacture of components required for Meltshop.
- Assist with inspection of Overhead Cranes and Compressors.
- Act as relief for Fitter or Mechanical supervisor in his absence.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Ensure use of P.P.E.
- Observe Workshop Safety Induction Procedures.
- Provide General Assistance as directed by Mechanical Superintendent.
Requirements:
- Grade 1
- Fitter & Turner Qualification (Trade Test / Red Seal Certified)
- Experience within a Steel Manufacturing Plant would be an advantage
- A minimum of 5 years' maintenance experience post apprenticeship as a Fitter and Turner
Knowledge / Skills and Abilities:
- Good practical skills.
- Close attention to detail.
- The ability to focus for long periods of time.
- A methodical approach to work.
- Great team player and good communication skills
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Cape Town,
Western Cape:
Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- Certificate (required)
Experience:
- Maintenance Experience as Fitter and Turner: 4 years (required)
