Our client, based in Paarl, Western Cape, is a global leader in convenient foods and beverages, and is a major player in the FMCG industry has a contract vacancy for 12 months with the possibility of renewal for a PMO Planner.

The position is Office based/Hybrid days a week)


The purpose of the role is to plan and monitor the program and its constituent projects to ensure it remains on track.

At least 5 years experience in a similar planning role
Previous direct involvement in an SAP Transformation project
FMCG experience.

A project management qualification.
Certification in Agile.
Certification as a PMI scheduling professional (PMI-SP).

  • Define planning standards for the program to enable ease of rollup of milestone data and dependencies.
  • Facilitate the design and development of project and workstream plans, providing estimating support, ensuring that all milestones, internal and external dependencies are identified, logged and monitored.
  • Ensure all plans include activities, time and resource estimates for risk mitigation.
  • Ensure quality review and deliverable acceptance activities and associated time have been allocated realistically.
  • Develop and maintain the overall program plan.
  • Establish and operate mechanisms to track delivery against the program plan and regularly update progress against the plan.
  • Identify and analyze interfaces and dependencies between projects and recommend appropriate actions where anomalies exist or there are areas of concern.
  • Develop milestone and dependency charts to create visibility for the team.
  • Track and maintain dependencies
  • Advise on missed milestones, missed dependencies and assess the impact.
  • Report deviations and/or changes to the original plan that can lead to serious delays and budget overruns.
  • Monitor planning assumptions and take appropriate action where assumptions do not hold true.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Projects able to plan and schedule multiple projects that rollup into a master program schedule.
