    PHARMACIST X 2

    12 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT

    CAPE TOWN (CROSSROADS AND PHILIPPI VILLAGE)

    These two contract positions will be based at the Emavundleni Research Centre pharmacies in Crossroads and Phillipi Village, Cape Town. The main purpose of this position: The pharmacists will be responsible for Pharmacy Regulatory Compliance, Family Planning and Sexually Transmitted Infection Medication Management, Investigational Product (IP) Management and Record Management.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12, with Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy with Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist
    • At least 2 years' experience as a pharmacist post community service
    • Pharmacy management and supervision experience
    • Excellent Computer Literacy (MS Office)
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to train and mentor
    • Must be able to work independently and within a team
    • Ability to build interpersonal relationships and partnerships
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Excellent Planning and Organizing skills

    Advantageous:

    • Experience in a Clinical Research Environment as a Pharmacist
    • Previous experience liaising with Trial Sponsors, CRA's, Monitors and auditors
    • Current GCP (Good Practice Certificate)
    • HSP (Human Subject Protection) certificate
    • Proficient in Vaccine Aseptic Technique preparation
    • Proficient in dealing with and responding to monitoring reports

    Responsibilities:

    • Dispensing Investigational product as per Study protocol
    • Write and revise Pharmacy and study related pharmacy SOPs
    • Ensure the pharmacy is run according to South African pharmacy and research ethical standards
    • Check prescriptions and advise medical officers as to drug interactions and contra- indications to ensure participant safety
    • Ensure Study product is distributed according to protocol
    • Ensure All trial participants receive IP on time according to protocol
    • Optimal stock levels maintained at all times
    • Maintain IP accountability records in accordance with the standards required by the SAPC, SAHPRA, ICH-GCP and Investigation Product Management
    • Quality Assurance and Quality Control of pharmacy processes
    • Data Management – Data is accurately and timeously captured. The study protocol is implemented correctly, and reports are submitted timeously
    • Engage and respond to Sponsor requests
    • Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff
