Hotel situated in Umhlanga - KZN Northcoast is looking to appoint a Deputy General Manager

  • All duties associated with the management and control of the assets of the Hotel
  • The Management of the performance of all staff and contract personnel employed at the Hotel.
  • Ensuring that all staff and contract personnel employed at the Hotel are always properly and adequately trained and fully conversant with all aspects of the duties they are required to perform.
  • The management and reporting on all such areas as determined by the Employer's policy and procedures.
  • Required to work shifts & long hours when necessary.
  • Required to work shifts
  • To maximize employee productivity by multitasking, multi skilling & flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests
  • To handle guest complaints and inquiries in a courteous & efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties & responsibilities as assigned.
  • Prepare month end reports

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Strong Managerial Skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Decision making and problem solving
  • Strong financial acumen and administration skills
  • Be able to communicate with guests at all levels and to be able to arrange and plan functions
  • Be able to work well under pressure.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES

  • Diploma in Hospitality Management, Catering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 Years' experience in Hotel/Resort Management
  • Fully computer literate with an emphasis and experience on Micros.
  • Opera & Myinventory will be an advantage
  • General allround knowledge of industry operations
