The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the daily truck movements.


The Operations Supervisor has the responsibility for providing reliable information on the circulation of trucks in and around the warehouses where we carry out our daily operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations:

  • Arranging and scheduling loads: local and south bound
  • Assistance with following up on clearance delays: NB and SB
  • Assistance with arranging of security for convoys: SB.
  • Loading checks in warehouse
  • Assistance with driver cash / fuel orders
  • Handling driver queries

Administration:

  • Handling of client queries
  • Checking of offloaded cargo NB
  • PODs: Local, North, and South bound
  • Checking of required documentation
  • File creation using Goods Received Vouchers
  • Handling and arranging COFs and license discs of trucks.
  • Quotes for NB transportation

Reporting:

  • Cost recovery
  • Compiling list of all cash orders required for trucks.
  • Sending South bound prealerts.
  • Handing of tracking reports

OUTLINE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Driver briefing & dispatch.
  • Completion of books for loads
  • Supplying updated driver details to KAM'S for load bookings
  • FMS capturing including empty legs.
  • Tracking of vehicles/drivers en route and continuously follow up.
  • Escalating of issues on route
  • Ensure vehicles depart depot as planned daily.
  • Driver briefing and dispatch.
  • Driver documents for validity and expiry

  • Check load allocations in the VR and execute load requirements as planned.
  • Confirm equipment requirements and ensure allocated to vehicle.
  • Make sure equipment slip is handed to Equipment Manager for planning.

  • Monitor Driver groups for any incidents / accidents / breakdowns.
  • Contacting of all Drivers pinging on Pulsit Vehicle Unit Tracking systems to ensure all is well and notifying accordingly.
  • Assisting in resolving Fines / Overloads / Load shifts etc.
  • Planning and implementing any operational requirements as necessary to continue the movement of vehicles.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12/ Matric
  • Tertiary Qualifications will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience, preferably in the Transport Sector
  • Good understanding of Fleet System.


  • Others: English

  • Full Command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Knowledge and understanding of company business model and business needs.

Salary:
R18, R25,000.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Olifantsfontein, Gauteng: Reliably commute
