Job Advert Summary:
Purpose of the position:
The Enrolled Nurse provides clinical and administrative duties including but not limited to; supervision of case officers, linkage of clients into care, supports case management solutions for adults and pediatrics in attainment of 2nd 95 and 3rd 95.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 plus Enrolled Nurse qualification
- HIV and TB management trainings, WBPHCOT will be an added advantage
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in HIV and TB programs
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an enrolled nurse
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provision of mentorship for HIV and TB screening and linkage to HIV and TB management
- Assist with phlebotomy duties under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse/Medical Practitioner
- Collaborates with health facility staff for the provision of HIV/TB prevention strategies, including IPC
- Assists with elicitation of contacts for newly diagnosed HIV, TB and STI index patients
- Ensure complete documentation and updating of HIV/TB manual and electronic registers
- Assists with the provision of technical assistance in HIV counselling and manage and track referral of HIV, TB and STI cases
- Adheres to all infection prevention and control protocols including medical waste management protocols
- Supports and expedites decanting of all eligible patients as per SOP including internal PUP management
- Blood monitoring as per required monitoring intervals
- Ensure the spread and integration of lessons learnt about how to engage communities to improve the quality of services, retention in care and adherence to treatment
- Strengthen linkages between the mobile HTS teams and the preferred health facility
- Ensure the spread and integration of lessons learnt about how to engage communities to health facilities to improve the quality of services, retention in care and adherence to treatment
- Work closely with stakeholders and the role players on linking clients from mobile HTS teams into health and ART services to create demand for usage of mobile HTS teams in the community
- Work closely with DOH to establish community based structures that will create demand for HIV/AIDS care and treatment
- Meet monthly with health facility managers to provide feedback on the successfully referred clients and the home visits conducted to screen for HIV/TB and STI at the index case home
- Strengthen relationships and linkages between the mobile HTS teams and the health facilities
