    Description

    Experience & Qualifications:

    • Matric or Equivalent.
    • Qualification in sales and marketing would be advantageous.
    • 3-5 years working in a sales and marketing environment.
    • 3-5 years of experience with sourcing new business opportunities.
    • 3 years of knowledge of dealing with retailers/merchants and wholesalers.
    • Experience in direct calling on prospective clients.
    • Must have strong background knowledge in plumbing, construction and sanware.
    • Product knowledge of our clients products would be preferrable.
    • Good knowledge of all legislations related to building and construction.
    • Must have a strong background in marketing and sales.
    • Must have strong selling/marketing presentation skills.
    • Must have sales forecasting and planning experience.
    • Must understand the sales process.
    • Customer support and service experience is essential.
    • Computer system knowledge: Microsoft Excel & Word, MS Project, MS Power Point.
    • Valid driver's license- unendorsed code 8.
    • Working knowledge of SAP and CRM.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assess and target new relationships and maintain them.
    • Adhere to and meet all KPI's.
    • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
    • Complete daily and monthly reports.
    • Compare/monitor competitors' activities & product trends in the retail market, report such activity.
    • Develop & maintain customer relationships and develop, grow and retain assigned accounts within the
      designated territory.
    • Initiate and manage sales promotions, training and scheduling of customers visits arranged in conjunction with
      the Regional Sales Manager - Inland, our client and in line with the budget or forecast.
    • Manage and respond to customer queries and on-going support requirements.
    • Initiate structured sales review meetings with key companies, branches and/or customers.
    • Identify new sales opportunities and communicate to all relevant parties in terms of brands, projects, or markets.
    • Communicate sales performance with the aid of reports and draw up short-term/long term plans for
      merchants/branches sales targets.
    • Manage structured call cycles and call plan regarding customer visits, road trips, launches and provide feedback
      of all actions resulting from such visits.
    • Manage marketing intelligence, competitor analysis, competitor activity.
    • Reporting on sales by customer/country/product, competitor activities, product significance, customer
      significance, promotional activities, training and any relevant information required or is entered into the CRM system on a regular basis.

    Purpose of the role:

    Business Development Advisors are the key point of contact between an organization and its Trade Channel clients. This role is responsible for identifying business opportunities, building and maintaining strong customer relationships and strategic key account management.
