About the jobTo manage a large team that will be responsible to ensure end to end customer service levels are met.
Key purpose will be to ensure an accurate forecast, applicable supply strategy for each product group and leveraging the 3PL to ensure orders are delivered on time.
Strategy and Planning- Develop the team's overall strategy, structures, and KPI's, based on the Supply Chain 3year strategy
- Cascade the strategy to the team and continuously provide them with direction
- Develop the department's strategy, structures, and KPI's, and cascade them to the team
- Continuously provide direction to the team
- Efficient and collaborative Demand Forecasting process, working closely with internal stakeholders
- Review, design, and document deliberate and effective supply strategies for each product
- Review, design, and document deliberate and effective supply strategies for each raw and packaging
- Manage and Monitors logistics adherence to best practice and performance
- Operational management of the external and internal logistics contracts and Service Level Agreements,
- Understand and define areas for improvements within Logistics
- Define and follow up improvement action plans (internal/external)
- Increase level of the industry related standard
- Deliver optimal service to the customers
- Take accountability for the quality of the technology and processes within the team, and implement changes and best practice as required
- Define, train and improve of current internal processes
- Set department policies, standards and protocols
- Manage and coordinate relationships between3PL's, Commercial, OTC, and Planning
- Become the intermediary and collaborator within the department
- Conduct daytoday problem solving
- Collaborate with 3PL on cost reduction initiatives
- Maintain oversight of Third Party Logistics Suppliers
- Drive safety in Logistics
- Manage and be a key role player in contractual relationships with new 3PL's
- Report on customer service levels, working capital, inventory KPI's, Logistics and Warehousing costs, and forecast accuracy
- Highlight and action any departmental issues
- Continuously monitor service levels and address issues (suppliers, factory, supply chain)
- Manage losses and reductions
- Actively participate in relevant projects
- Complete all management reports for Logistics division
- Proactive management of network constraints
- Monitor logistics performance
- Accountable for the identification of logistics costs and implementation of logistics productivity plan projects
- Define and negotiate SLA's for 3PL suppliers, and provide support to the 3PL Performance Manager in the active management of 3PL's
- Drive operational and process developments
- Lead the team in logistics performance projects
- Continuously monitor service levels and address issues (suppliers, factory, supply chain)
- Manage losses and reductions
- Actively participate in relevant projects
- Manage and motivate the team in the delivery of team objectives
- Conduct internal performance management and IDP processes fairly and consistently, resulting in transparent
- Recruit for vacancies within the team
- Facilitate the setting of team objectives
- Mentor and coachteam members, as required
- Set the team's budget and take overall accountability for working within budget
- Oversee the daytoday management the budget and RF
- Attend the monthly meeting to give feedback on the budget tracker
- Provide input into the RF process, and take overall accountability for working within the RF
- Give feedback against the RF tracker
Qualification(s:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Purchasing, Supply Chain Logistics or Engineering
- Master's qualification is an advantage
Experience and Skills:
- At least 8 years' experience in FMCG supply chain disciplines
- Experience in ERP, SAP/APO would be an advantage
- Previous exposure to cross functional work is a necessity
- Project Management skills
- Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
