Job purpose

To assist in ensuring that the business meets its regulatory obligations from an actuarial perspective.

You will be exposed to the full range of actuarial activities within both companies, giving you exposure to both life and non-life actuarial work.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Actuarial Science Degree
  • At least 2 years' experience in the life or nonlife industry
  • Progress with the Actuarial Exams
Advantage

  • IFRS17 implementation experience
  • Prophet coding experience

Responsibilities will include assisting in the following areas:

  • IFRS17 Implementation, reserving and reporting
  • Solvency assessment and management (SAM)
  • Own risk and solvency assessment (ORSA)
  • New product development cycle
  • System development and testing
  • Management information reporting
  • Setting and reviewing of risk registers and risk appetite statements
  • Reinsurance management
  • Model and process documentation
  • Experience investigations
  • Conduct of business returns (CBRs)
  • Other adhoc items

Salary:
R65,000.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:


  • Bachelors (required)

Experience:

- life or non-life industry: 2 years (required)

  • IFRS17 implementation: 2 years (preferred)
  • Prophet coding: 2 years (preferred)
