About Us:


Manati Alternate Student Funding is a student funding organisation, specialising in funding solutions for prospective university and college students that wish to study at higher education institutions across South Africa.


Job purpose:

To negotiate with arrears account customers to maximise debt recovery and profitability.


Key Performance Areas:


  • Ensure that allocated collection and productivity targets are achieved
  • Use effective communication and negotiation to ensure successful commitments to pay (Promises to Pay)
  • Followup daily on the progress of the PTP's and the respective statuses to optimise collections
  • Act within the parameters of the National Credit Act and minimize the company's exposure to complaints.
  • Adhere to and utilise the collections call script/s
  • Ensure all debtors information held on record is up to date and accurate
  • Ensure accounts are properly maintained at all time on the collections system
  • Deals with people and/or debtors in a manner that shows empathy tact, and professionalism

MINIMUM Requirements:


  • Must have a minimum of 12 months debt collection experience within an outbound debt collections environment with proven evidence of past performance
  • Has good solid knowledge of the National Credit Act (NCA)
  • Clear criminal and credit record
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • The ability to speak at least one additional South African language will be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills with welldeveloped activelistening and telephone communication
  • Working knowledge of a collections system is advantageous
  • Reliable access to wifi at home for morning and evening shifts
  • Must be a Sout African citizen
  • Must be able to work shifts (morning shift starts 6:30am from home; evening shift ends 9:00pm from home; some Saturdays from 8:00am 12:00pm)
