The Project Manager is accountable for the timeous design and development of new and revamped restaurants in accordance with operational and Brand standards through effective project management of construction projects including the management of and interface with contractors, suppliers and internal / external stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent qualification NQF level 4

5 years' experience in project management with a focus on design and development and exposure to quantity surveying, construction, design, project management, budget management and supplier management

Duties and Responsibilities:


Project Management (70%)

  • Conduct surveys of approved sites to determine optimal Casa design
  • Work with the Regional General Managers and their teams in order to provide guidance to Designers regarding Casa layouts and specifications
  • Oversee the completion of drawings by Designers
  • Obtain quotes and costings from external service providers and manage
  • Review project proposals and plans in order to determine time frames, procedures, project staffing requirements and the allocation of available resources for the various phases of the project
  • Provide a detailed project execution plan covering all aspects of the project
  • Monitor project administration and progress against project plan
  • Develop and manage the scope, schedule and budget of assigned projects and report progress to the Head of Projects SA on a regular basis
  • Monitor the efficient use of materials and equipment
  • Monitor the contractual performance of the project
  • Oversee the effective building process and all applicable trades of new or revamped Casa sites
  • Ensure that project budget is available for the procurement of equipment and resources for all construction projects
  • Supervise project activities in order to ensure that the project is executed in accordance with established designs and take appropriate action to minimise the impact of deviations
  • Manage quality throughout the design and build process, conducting final snaglist inspections and approving final payment of contractors
  • Lead project meetings and communicate information related to each function's requirements
  • Resolve any problems that may arise during project execution
  • Prepare reports and updates for stakeholders in order to ensure a clear understanding of project status
  • Collect and collate information from the project team and update project documentation as required
  • Document any noncompliance from landlords and forward this information to the Head of Property

Stakeholder and Relationship Management (10%)

  • Liaise with developers, contractors and suppliers to ensure that project objectives are met within time and quality targets
  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to ensure that projects remain within budget and delivered on time
  • Forecast future projects and resource requirements
  • Influence a range of internal and external stakeholders and partners in order to ensure collaboration and commitment to the project and achievement of the project milestones
  • Secure stakeholder input in order to manage the daytoday operations of the project
  • Communicate with the relevant stakeholders to highlight any potential issues

Project Budget and Financial Management (20%)

  • Manage budgets for all projects and communicate this information to the relevant stakeholders
  • Develop and obtain approval for project budgets, ensuring adherence to project scope
  • Authorise project expenditure in accordance with the project budget
  • Administer financial tracking systems to monitor project costs and estimates
  • Manage the financial aspects of contracts and report on cost information
  • Responsible management of capex in projects to ensure return on capital expe
