Our Client based in Kempton Park is looking for an Electrical / Instrument Technician to maintain / repair electrical and instrumentation plant and equipment in the factory.

To ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. To install distribution boards and control panels on machinery.


JOB FUNCTION:


Production support:


  • Electrical Machinery of the unit is installed and connected as per drawings
  • New electrical and instrumentation equipment is designed and supplied as required
  • Documentation, detailed instructions, drawings or specification are provided to advise how electrical parts and equipment are to be constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used

Inspection and maintenance:


  • All electrical machinery and equipment of the unit is inspected daily
  • Defects are detected and appropriate repairs carried out
  • The plant, tools and equipment are refurbished as required
  • Records of all maintenance work are maintained
  • Planned system maintenance is implemented
**Compliance: - Safety procedures and standards are in place and adhered to

  • Compliance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Construction work is completed as per safety specs
  • Records of electrical equipment are maintained and inspections completed
**Team support: - Provides on the job coaching to apprentices

  • Provides technical direction as required

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:


  • N4 Electrical / Electronics (PLC)
  • Qualified Electrical Artisan
  • At least 3 years post apprentice experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Displays knowledge of electrical machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Displays knowledge of instrumentation and control systems
  • Displays knowledge of practices related to trade such as electrical panel wiring and electrical maintenance practices
  • Customer focused, quality and safety orientated, problem solver, innovative, has good judgement and analytical thinker
  • Driver's licence and own car
  • Proficient in MS office suite
