    Description

    Title:Accountant

    Our client, based in Hermanus, is looking to hire an Accountant to join their company, in the financial industry, as soon as possible.

    The Role

    This role primarily entails the completion of various accounting and financial administration tasks and providing support to the Finance Lead.

    Key Responsibilities

    1 Debtors

    • Match all client fees received per bank statements, to the CRM system.
    • Invoice and receipt client fees on accounting system and ensure it accurately syncs with CRM system.
    • "Manual" customer invoicing for receipts not reflecting in CRM system.
    • Follow-up on outstanding debtors / CRM fees administration

    2 Creditors

    • Processing of supplier bills and submission for electronic approval of expenses in accordance with the company policies.
    • Prepare creditor reconciliations where applicable.
    • Make daily payments to service providers.
    • Obtain valid B-BBEE certificates from suppliers.

    3 Accounting

    • Download & electronically file bank statements from online banking system.
    • Capture all bank transactions to accounting system, allocate appropriately.
    • Perform bank reconciliations.
    • Petty cash: do cash withdrawals, record cash expenses, and do monthly reconciliations of Petty Cash
    • Process journals for interest on call account, loan capital and interest.
    • Prepare general ledger reconciliations.
    • Provide auditors with the necessary assistance and documentation required during audit processes.
    • Assist with other month-end procedures / journals as may be required.

    4 Administration

    • Filing of all source documents in the electronic vendor repository.
    • Cash Flow Management
    • Daily cash flow report (income, expenses, bank balances, net cash flow)
    • Daily cash inflow report for COO

    5 Risk rating of clients

    6 Load client local payments on Bidvest Bank for approval.

    Qualification Requirements:

    • BCom Accounting degree with completed articles, preferable OR
    • Accounting Diploma with minimum 3 years' experience with a reputable firm

    This is an in-office, fixed 12 month contract position based in Hermanus.

    Area: Hermanus, Western Cape.

    Salary: R20 000-R25 000 CTC depending on experience.
