Hire Resolve, a renowned recruitment agency, is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Unit Manager Health and Safety to join their client's team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and manage health and safety operations within the organization.

As the Unit Manager Health and Safety at Hire Resolve, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective health and safety programs and procedures. You will work closely with management and employees to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Managing, leading and supporting the implementation and coordination of Safety policies, management plans and standards on the Operation
• The overall management of the Operation's Safety systems
• Developing plans for safety audits on site, emergency response and Safety related training
• Interpreting, implementing and maintaining programmes for the effective monitoring of Health and Safety characteristics by reporting on Health and Safety performance indicators, ensuring compliance to requirements and that continuous improvement in Health and Safety conditions are achieved
• Ensuring compliance of Contractors with regards to standard operating procedures
• Ensuring consultation and participation of all relevant stakeholders
• Advising and assisting senior Management on issues impacting the health and safety of employees
• Effectively building capacity of safety resources within the safety department aligned with transformation requirements

Requirements

• NQF 6 National Diploma Health and Safety Management.
• At least 5 years' experience in a related role, of which 5 years should have been at a management level or experience in a functional/specialist area.
• Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
• Clear security screening record.
• Valid driver's license (if applicable).
• Be in possession of a Mine Overseers Certificate of Competency
• Assertive and diplomatic
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
