    Dealer Principal Job Description

    The Dealer Principal is responsible for leading the dealership to achieve its objectives and performance targets while delivering high levels of service.

    The role requires an experienced leader who can maximise profitability through the sale of vehicles, parts, labour, and related products, while ensuring control of cash flow, stock, and assets relevant to profit requirements.

    Key Focus Areas:

    • Leading people and achieving results
    • Driving business growth

    Responsibilities:

    Sales and Profitability

    Deliver bottom-line results while ensuring compliance with company policies and corporate governance.

    Ensure all departments achieve profit margins agreed to in their objectives/budgets.

    Cash Flow and Stock Management

    Manage cash flow, stock, and assets at an optimum level commensurate with profit requirements and a satisfactory return on investment.

    Relationships and Revenue Growth

    Build and maintain professional relationships with vehicle manufacturers.

    Develop strategies to drive dealership revenue, profitability, and market share in the relevant area.

    Leadership and People Management

    Provide effective leadership and people management.

    Create a high-performing, positive work climate and inclusive culture in the dealership.

    Recruit, develop, and retain skilled staff to meet business requirements.

    Encourage effective teamwork, self-management, and alignment with business values from all dealership staff.

    Requirements:

    8+ years of relevant retail motor industry experience, including 5 years of dealer operations management experience.

    Effective management and leadership skills.

    Knowledge of vehicle financing, stock management, and sales.

    A sound understanding of finance and financial transactions.

    Valid driver's license and computer literacy.

    Experience with DMS (Drive) and social media marketing.
