LOGISTICS MANAGER

EPPING

CRITERIA:


  • Degree or National Diploma in Operations or Supply Chain Management (critical)
  • Minimum 5 years' work experience in Operations Management, Logistics, Transport or related
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Structured with high organisation skills
  • Aboveaverage attention to detail
  • Accustomed to pressure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership principles

DAILY FUNCTIONS:

Report to Operations Director

Staff management of 4 Logistics Administrators

Responsible for smooth operations of nationwide logistics from 4 Warehouses based in Cape Town, Durban, Gauteng and Gqeberha


Inbound Logistics
Liaise with clearing agents, suppliers and buyers

Facilitate delivery of import containers

Attend to import queries

Monitoring of and reporting on clearing agent performance and ocean freight rates


Outbound Logistics
Liaise with transporters

Attend to all distribution queries

Monitor and report on transporter performance and rates


Warehouse Operations and KPI's
Review and update warehouse KPI's

Assist warehouse managers with operations planning

Oversee distribution of key management reports to management team

Attend to and report on service delivery queries

Preparation and presentation of division's operational performance at a monthly review meeting


Process and Systems enhancement
Identify and coordinate the implementation of process and systems improvement initiatives


Operations Manual
Responsible for updating the operations manual and disseminating updates
