    Job Title: Operations Manager (Distribution)

    Location: Roodepoort

    Contract: Permanent

    EE Position: Yes

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a permanent Operations Manager (Distribution) to oversee the effective and efficient distribution management of Pharmaceutical stock at our Rand Leases branch. The successful candidate will report to the General Manager (Inland).

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for maximizing return on customer deliveries and delivering key distribution objectives in line with the overall business objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Warehouse Operations Management: Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
    2. Distribution Operations Management: Effectively manage day-to-day distribution operations, ensuring customer satisfaction and business growth.
    3. Cost Management: Manage costs, including budgetary alignment and capital expenditure (CAPEX).
    4. Customer Interface Management: Manage the Distribution customer interface, ensuring customer satisfaction and business growth.
    5. Security and Loss Control: Ensure security and loss control measures are in place, in line with company guidelines and policies.
    6. Pharmaceutical Compliance: Manage pharmaceutical compliance as per regulations.
    7. Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage all activities of supervisors in the departments of Receiving, Put-Away, Picking, Packing, Shipping, and Inventory Control.
    8. Training and Development: Participate in the employment process, recommend candidates for employment, train, develop, and coach staff.
    9. Employee Development: Promote employee development, creative thinking, empowerment, and two-way communication.
    10. Workflow and Overtime: Make recommendations regarding workflow and overtime when needed.
    11. Policies and Procedures: Ensure all policies and procedures are followed accurately and efficiently.
    12. Administrative Staff Management: Oversee administrative staff to ensure an even flow of orders are released per the order picking schedule.
    13. Performance Review and Training: Conduct meetings with staff to review performance/results and perform operational training.
    14. Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Maintain compliance with all regulatory and operational procedures.
    15. Transportation Management: Effectively and efficiently manage the company transport at a national level.

    Requirements:

    • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Relationship Building Skills: Strong relationship building skills.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Interpersonal skills.
    • IT Skills: Knowledge of WMS and MS office.

    Qualifications:

    • Business Degree or Diploma: Essential.
    • Operational Safety and Health Requirements: Knowledge of operational safety and health requirements.
    • Transportation Related Issues: Basic understanding of transportation related issues.
    • Regulatory Requirements: Current knowledge of regulatory requirements.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5 Years' Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience within Warehouse/Operations/Sales/Retail environment Warehouse.
    • Management of Budgets: Management of budgets essential.
    • Warehouse Management System: Knowledge of warehouse management system.
