The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Commercial and Operations for OK Franchise in all functions within the department.

This includes managing various ongoing franchise related projects, supporting new business development activities, while delivering insights and reports to drive decision making.

This role is also responsible for drafting business processes and building commercial models to enable efficiency and profitability for both franchisees and the franchisor.


This role is a fit for an analytical, motivated self-starter with a strong business acumen, an interest in operational excellence with medium to long term sight of the business and should have FMCG experience.

Commercial and New Business Development Enablement

  • Research, contribute to and/or create commercial models to enhance the profitability of both Franchisor and Franchisees.
  • Support new business development activities pertaining to the purchase and sale of business processes to increase market share, ensuring overall process effectiveness.
  • Compile various Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Complete and review viability studies and ensure efficiency and seamless connection between Finance, Legal, Commercial and Operations business processes.
  • Engage in contract negotiations with service providers and/or franchisees to ensure seamless contracting of services between both parties.

Project Execution, Leadership and Risk Management:

  • Manage a variety of commercial and operational initiatives/projects aimed at improving the profitability for Franchisors and Franchisees.
  • Lead crossfunctional project teams and provide direction to team members.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and address any issues or risks promptly.
  • Effectively manage project budgets, expenses, and resource utilization
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to manage operational outputs and ensure business
  • Implement proactive risk assessment and risk management processes.

Data Analytics and Reporting:


  • Partially oversee the Data Analytics function within the team.
  • Perform ad hoc data analysis to drive business insights and decision making.
  • Prepare and present various reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports on Key Performance Indicators.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (essential)
  • A Chartered Accountant CA (SA) / Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (essential)
  • Project Management qualification (essential)
  • Experience
- **+3 years' experience** in a Financial Management, Project Accountant or similar role, driving and delivering commercial, financial, and operational business value or results in demonstrable and sustainable business growth - (essential).

  • Solid experience retail or FMCG (essential).
  • Project management experience overseeing the process, creation, and implementation of strategic business initiatives (essential).
  • Proven experience collaborating with, influencing, pitching concepts and ideas, and presenting across multiple stakeholder levels and groups within a corporate business context (essential).
  • Financial management, analysis, analytics, and modelling experience, including understanding of commercial and lease agreements, and business feasibility calculations (essential).
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (essential).
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), report writing and presentation skills (essential).
  • Solid business process analysis and mapping experience (essential).
  • Solid understanding of Forecasting, budgeting, relevant cost principles (essential).
  • Experience
with various functional areas in the business i.e., operations, buying, marketing, IT and Finance - (beneficial).

  • Understanding of IT systems (I.e., operational, projects and implementation) (beneficial)
