Main purpose of role:
To manage the company's supply of products and services. Procurement Controller responsibilities include strategising to find cost-effective deals and suppliers.
The procurement controller duty is to discover the best ways to cut procurement expenses, so that the company can invest in growth and people.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Creating and implementing procurement strategies which is inventive and cost-effective
Sourcing and engaging with reliable suppliers and vendors
Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms
Reviewing agreements with existing suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility
Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers
Review and approve purchase orders
Organising and confirming delivery of goods and services
Performing risk assessments on potential supplier contracts and agreements
Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
Preparing procurement reports
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
Hard skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Proficiency in inventory and RFP management software
Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in "reading" the market
Talent in negotiations and networking
Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software
Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
Proficiency and fluency in French, Portuguese and English would be preferred
Soft skills:
Leadership skills
Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
Highly organised and detail oriented
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Education and experience:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a similar field
Experience in supply chain management software and tools
Proven experience managing supply chain operations
In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms
Proven working experience as a procurement controller or procurement officer
Minimum of three years' experience in a similar environment
