    Description

    Job Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with IT System engineers to design and deliver local and wide area network installations, upgrades, operations, control, maintenance, and effective use for data, voice, text, or image communication within the Electoral Commission.
    • Meet service performance requirements such as throughput, availability, and response time, and handle enquiries and requests efficiently.
    • Monitor and review network performance and quality of service, including constituent hardware and software.
    • Investigate, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve problems, negotiating with users, specialists, staff, and suppliers as needed.
    • Consider quality, security, availability, and safety needs, utilizing specialized techniques, tools, methods, and standards.
    • Use established methods, hardware, and software tools to plan, install, configure, commission, monitor, and investigate networks.
    • Provide operational client support, resolving incidents, performing maintenance routines, and conducting network checks.
    • Analyze network statistics, identify traffic flow trends, and propose capacity changes and contingency arrangements.
    • Contribute to complex communication system development, including investigation, analysis, specification, design, construction, testing, maintenance, upgrade, and migration.
    • Assist in collating service reporting metrics and identifying missing or surplus metrics.

    Skills Requirements

    • Advanced skills and experience in designing and supporting Microsoft networks.
    • Certifications and qualifications.
    • Ability to manage mini projects and coordinate tasks.
    • Excellent documentation, communication, and presentation skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of Cisco/Aruba/HPE switches and routers.
    • Network infrastructure design and implementation expertise.
    • Familiarity with Radius, Active Directory, and Location Based Services like Cisco OS, Aruba NetEdit, HPE IMC, Aruba AOS-CX.
    • Detailed networking design skills with comprehensive knowledge.
    • Strong passion for LAN/WAN & wireless security, understanding application vulnerabilities, and designing solutions.
    • Pro-active and innovative mindset.
    • Meticulous attention to detail.
    • Customer-centric approach and results-driven work ethic.
