Mechanical Utilities Foreman

Complement Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Utilities Foreman for a permanent position based in eThekwini, Durban, KwaZulu Natal.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective, energy-efficient operations of utilities for the line and plant, keeping utilities equipment performance within benchmark limits.
• Execute themes related to energy and cost savings to maximize machine uptime for production and implement planned, predictive, and proactive maintenance.

Requirements:

• Matric; National Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering and other related certifications.
• Relevant maintenance and project management experience, preferably in a beverage or fast-moving consumables goods environment.
• 6-8 years of strong mechanical experience in Thermic Heaters, compressors, chillers, water treatment plants, or similar.
• Managed a plant's mechanical and utilities department.

Role Overview:

• Ensure environmental, health, safety, and risk management to local standards.
• Introduce and adhere to world-class asset care and maintenance principles (efficient asset utilization).
• Compile, manage, and control maintenance budgets, including capex, and effectively control project funding requests.
• Manage performance and people development within the department.

Key Skills:

• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office/Excel Skills & Oracle (advantageous).
• Experience with coal boilers, steam systems, cooling towers, refrigeration systems, air compressors, wastewater treatment plants, water filtration (UF/RO), valves, pumps, piping systems, heat exchangers, electrical systems, instrumentation, and civil work.
