Field Services Manager - Boksburg, Gauteng - Job-3688

Field Services Manager needed with the ability to work under pressure and interact with clients at various on a management level.

You will be responsible for carrying out and managing all the service related functions appropriately, and will be primarily responsible for enhancing the quality of services that are being provided to the customers.

You will have to make sure that the work is delegated properly so that efficient services are being rendered to the end customer.

Responsible for sustainability and profitability of the SLA's and training agreements with customers.

Knowledge of:

Mining legislation including Occupational Health and Safety Act, Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act, Environmental legislation Act; engineering codes of practices and procedures within Coal and Hard rock operations in SA; best practices and new technologies relating to electrical and electronic engineering.

Valid driver's license and own transport.

Must pass medical assessments.

Primary Purpose:
Effective management of operational schedule and implementation of company systems & products on clients mining equipment.

Job description / core competencies:

Coordinate and manage subordinates, facilitate interdepartmental communication, and allocate tasks and resources as needed.
Manage product availability (Downtime, MTTF & MTTR).
Manage performance of direct operations staff.
Disciplining employees to agreed policies and procedures.
Drive his staff development.
Weekly report on tasks performed in that week.
Attend all client meetings as requested and/or scheduled.
Provide meaningful reporting to Senior Management in a timely and effective manner.
To design strategies and ensure that all the daytoday services have been controlled and that all the clients' needs have been tackled successfully.
To make recommendations and design policies and rules that will reduce the costs and improve the efficiency of the services.
Communicate all field issues to Engineering and help drive solutions back to customers.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Grade 1
Trade Test in electrical engineering.
Flameproof and gas testing qualification.
Flame proofing and gas testing knowledge.
Minimum of 3 years work experience as a Field Service Engineer in a mining environment.
Minimum of 3 years work experience as a Field Service Coordinator in a mining environment.
Knowledge of mining legislation including Occupational Health and Safety Act, Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act, Environmental legislation Act.
Knowledge of engineering codes of practices and procedures within coal and hard rock operations in SA.
Knowledge of best practices and new technologies relating to electrical and electronic engineering.

Ability to work under pressure and interact with clients at various on a management level.

Good understanding of Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act

Valid driver's license and own transport.

Must pass medical assessments.

Computer literate.

Excellent oral, cross functional and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).
